ADRIAN — The Adrian District Library will welcome best-selling author Curtis Chin for a special Great Michigan Read event later this month.
Chin will speak at the Library on East Maumee Street in downtown Adrian on Wednesday, October 30th, at 6 p.m.
Chin is the author of Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant, which was chosen as the 2025–26 Great Michigan Read. His memoir shares what it was like growing up as a gay Chinese-American kid in 1980s Detroit.
The event is part of the statewide Great Michigan Read fall tour, presented by Michigan Humanities. Local partners include the Library of Michigan and MSU Federal Credit Union.
Copies of Chin’s book will be sold at the event for $19.99, and starting October 31st, the library will offer community kits for book clubs and groups to check out.
