ADRIAN — With college application season approaching, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its 2026 rankings of the best colleges and universities in Michigan.

Siena Heights University in Adrian ranked ninth statewide, a strong showing despite its planned closure next year.

WalletHub compared nearly 800 schools nationwide based on 30 factors, including cost, graduation rates, and post-graduation earnings. Siena Heights was listed alongside major institutions like the University of Michigan, Kalamazoo College, and Hope College.

The report noted that Siena Heights performed especially well in graduation rate and post-attendance median salary.

It’s a bittersweet honor for a local institution that’s served Lenawee County for more than a century, but one that highlights its continuing legacy of quality education.
