ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Physical Resources Committee has approved the purchase of a new wheelchair-accessible van for the Department on Aging.
The van will expand transportation options for older adults and individuals with mobility challenges across the county.
Funding for the purchase comes through the WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging and Consumers Energy Foundation, covering up to $62,000.
The vehicle will be a 2025 Chrysler Voyager with a rear-entry conversion to allow for easier access.
Officials say the van will be used for medical appointments, grocery trips, and other essential needs.
The purchase now moves forward for final review by the Ways and Means Committee.
