Reverend Carl Boutilier, Jr., 88, of Freeport, Ohio passed away on October 3, 2025 in Adrian, Michigan.

“Bill” as he was known by many, is survived by Gail Devaney – daughter, and her husband Phil (children Tim, Caleb, Amanda and Luke); Judie Sundmaker – daughter, and her husband Jeffrey (children Daniel, Kelly and Jason); Carl Boutilier III – son, and his wife Stacey (children Annie, Meggan and Jordan); Andrew Boutilier – son, and his wife Tina; Kristin Baker – daughter, and her husband Robert (children Bobby Jr, Bruce and Axel); and Shirley Mark – sister. Carl also had many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members and close friends.

Carl is preceded in death by Joan Boutilier – beloved spouse, Carl Boutilier – father, Anne Boutilier – mother, Jean Sidilou – sister and Justin Tracy – grandson.

Carl was extremely proud of his time in the United States Navy and it was well known that he was deeply devoted to Jesus. He was a graduate of Elohim Bible Institute and Grand Rapids Bible College.

Carl enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking / crafts, fishing, cooking/baking, gardening & photography. Carl loved playing cribbage nightly with his wife Joan and had a deep love for pets and wildlife. He also enjoyed spending time evangelizing his faith and love for Jesus, including Mission Trips to Kenya and South America, which often included building hospitals and churches. Many of his days were spent with his Amish neighbors and friends when he wasn’t working as a security guard in his later years.

A private burial will be held for family at Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport, OH.
