GRAND BLANC The Grand Blanc community will hold a vigil tomorrow following the recent church mass killing that has shaken Genesee County.

Township Supervisor Scott Bennett recently announced the “Grand Blanc Better Together” community reflection would be at Grand Blanc High School’s Don Batchelor Field.

The event is a non-denominational, non-political gathering to support victims, their families, first responders, medical staff, and the community at large.

Gates will open at 6 pm, with the program starting at 7 pm.

Attendees are asked not to bring bags, candles or open flames.

In a Facebook post, Bennett thanked community members, “for standing with one another, for supporting those most affected, and for showing what it truly means to be part of Grand Blanc.”

Bennett encouraged those looking to provide financial support to donate directly to the Victim Compassion Fund through ELGA Credit Union, which ensures funds go directly to local victims rather than scams or crowdsourcing sites.

Anyone in need of help is urged to call the township at 810-424-2692 or reach out to their church leadership.
