ADRIAN — Students from the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute have finished building a timber frame outdoor classroom at Michener Elementary School in Adrian.

The classroom was built using traditional woodworking methods. It will give students a special place to learn and spend time in nature.

The project was led by a teacher from Adrian Public Schools, with help from community members and woodworking students who came from around the world to Adrian.

School leaders say the classroom shows how education and the community can work together.

The Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute is known for training people in fine woodworking and connecting that training with real projects.
