LEANWEE CO. — County officials are moving closer to a new agreement on economic development funding.
At the latest meeting, local leaders urged the board to restore support for the county’s main economic development group.
Commissioners said contract talks are advancing toward a $150,000 annual agreement. The plan would place special focus on housing development and include new accountability measures.
Board members said they expect to review a final draft soon, with the first contract set for one year.
