LEON G. WOLLET, age 99 years and 7 months, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Pittsford. He was born on February 28, 1926, in Hudson, the son of George and Elsie Mabel (Gatrell) Wollet.

Leon graduated from Hudson High School in 1944, and was drafted into the U.S. Army on June 4, 1944. He proudly served during World War II. His final assignment was with the 77th Calvary Division in Japan. He received his honorable discharge in May 1946.

Leon married Georgiana Peltier on July 23, 1946, in Angola, IN. She preceded him in death on July 26,2019. Leon worked as a mechanic at Harper Chevrolet in Hudson for numerous years. He enjoyed the simple things in life, fishing, reading, gardening, smoking a good cigar and especially spending time with family.

Left to cherish Leon’s memory is his daughter, Christine (John) Starlin, seven grandchildren, Kelley (Steve) Cunningham, Beth (Bret) Zilka, Denise Hastings, Andrew Willitts, Matthew (Jenny) Duff, Owen Patrick Starlin and Johnny (Erin) Starlin; seventeen great-grandchildren, Karter, Kenyon, Kadyn, Savannah, Gannon, Jackson, Georgiana, Tyson, Delaney, Griffin, Aniston, Lenox, Foster, Shea, Llian, Ruby and Olive; three great-great- grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Blunt; and numerous other extended family members. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, Lynne Anne Lemmons, parents, 9 brothers and sisters, Agnes Baker, Gerald Wollet, Calvin Wollet, Maxine Kope, Vivian Fitch, William Wollet, Lowell Wollet, Ronald Wollet and John Charles Wollet in infancy.

Funeral Services for Leon will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Marry Funeral Home, Hudson with Dr. Samuel E. Wickard officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hudson with Full Military Honors conducted by American Legion Hannan-Colvin Post #180 of Hudson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4-7 P.M. at the Marry Funeral Home, Hudson.
