Carlos D. Torres, Sr., age 91, of Adrian, died Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his home while under the care of his family and Hospice of Lenawee. He was born August 7, 1934, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Jose Maria and Beatriz (De Los Santos) Torres. On November 12, 1955, he married the former Rosario Salazar at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian. Together they raised a family of seven children and shared over 62 years of companionship before her passing on April 13, 2018.

Dedicated to his work, Carlos had been employed by the former Tecumseh Products for 47 years before his retirement in September of 1999. Catholic by faith, Carlos was a longtime active member of Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In addition to serving as a lector, he was involved in the Cursillo Movement and served on the church’s Pastoral Council. He also was involved with Promise Keepers, was on the Board of Directors for the Department of Aging, and often gave of himself with various volunteer work.

Surviving are five sons, Robert (Sunny) Torres of Cibolo, TX, Jose Maria (Lori) Torres of St. Augustine, FL, Timothy Lee (Kerri) Torres of Maitland, FL, Vincent Edward (Jackie) Torres of Adrian, Rodney Lee (Sharon) Torres of Arcade, NY; one daughter, Lori Wilson of Adrian; daughter-in-law, Anita Torres-Bufford of Adrian; a sister-in-law, Irma Torres of Ann Arbor; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Carlos Torres, Jr.; a granddaughter, Carisa Torres; and all of his siblings, three brothers and six sisters.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home on Thursday, October 9, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and concluding with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Michael Newman, OSFS, on Friday, October 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Cremation will take place after the services and Rite of Committal will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Family Parish. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
