ADRIAN — Share the Warmth of Lenawee is asking the community for help to keep their doors open.

In a press release published Friday, Executive Director Shannon DeSloover wrote, “without immediate financial support, we are at risk of closing our doors before year’s end.”

DeSloover wrote that Share the Warmth has not received any increases in state or federal grant funding in the last five years, despite repeated requests.

While the shelter is expected to receive renewed funding later in the year, DeSloover wrote that they must raise $55,000 to continue their operations.

According to the press release, Share the Warmth of Lenawee has helped 345 residents out of emergency situations and homelessness this year alone.

Any donations will stay in Lenawee and support Lenawee County residents.
