LENAWEE CO. — The county board has approved the 2026 county budget. The general fund is $43.1 million after an 8–1 vote.
The plan puts $3.3 million into the capital fund, including $2 million set aside for future work on the judicial building. Officials said this approval came earlier than in past years.
Leaders also outlined concerns for next year: possible state or federal shutdowns, cuts to revenue sharing, housing supply and property values, major technology upgrades, and several union talks.
The board adopted the budget during the Sept. 25 meeting.
