
ADRIAN — The Adrian City Police is investigating a car/pedestrian fatality in Adrian Saturday night.
According to Adrian City Police Deputy Chief Larry VanAlstine, they received a call at approximately 9:46pm of a car/pedestrian crash in the 100 block of North Main Street.
A vehicle driving northbound on North Main Street struck a pedestrian who had stumbled into the roadway. The driver of the vehicle, a 45 year old Tecumseh resident, remained on the scene until law enforcement arrived.
The pedestrian, a 48 year old Adrian resident, was taken to Hickman Hospital with apparent critical injuries and was later declared deceased.
The crash is under investigation by the Adrian Police Department. Adrian Police was assisted on scene by the Lenawee County Sherrif’s Department, Michigan State Police, Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team, the Adrian Fire Department and the Madison Fire Department.
