LANSING — The State of Michigan has awarded $2 million in grants to support new mobility technology.

The money comes from the “Make It in Michigan” Mobility Prototyping Grant Program. It will help companies across the state create and test products in areas like drones, electric vehicles, and advanced manufacturing.

The Michigan Office of Future Mobility and Electrification and the Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation are leading the program, along with the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University.

Grants of up to $100,000 per company were given to 27 businesses, including projects in Hillsdale, Detroit, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and other cities.

Officials say the program will strengthen supply chains, support national defense, and create high-quality jobs right here in Michigan.
