LENAWEE CO. — The Lenawee County Materials Management Department is asking local farmers to help reduce waste this fall.
The department wants to create a list of farms that will accept used pumpkins from residents after Halloween. The pumpkins would be used for composting instead of ending up in landfills.
Farmers who are willing to be added to the list can email the department at solid dot waste at lenawee dot mi dot us.
The county says the effort will help neighbors work together to recycle and cut down on seasonal waste.
