Ruth was born on June 14, 1931, in Blissfield, MI, the last of 6 children to Ralph and Maude Gentz. Ruth graduated from Blissfield High School in June 1948.
On January 27, 1951, Ruth married Dee Richard Goetz and they have celebrated 74 years together.
Ruth worked a couple of different secretarial jobs including Adrian College. Farming with Dee, was her primary job after taking care of the home and children. Ruth and Dee welcomed two children, Jeffrey in 1958 and Cindy in 1959.
She is survived by her husband, Dee; son, Jeffrey (Penny) Goetz; grandchildren, Jason (Mallory) Goetz and Tim (Heather) Goetz; and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Amelia, Koby and Ridge. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter, Cindy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel, in Blissfield; and again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Betz officiating. Burial will follow at Riga Cemetery.
