LANSING — Midwest Energy & Communications is reminding local teachers, administrators, and school leaders that applications are now open for the Strengthening Schools Grant program.
Any public school in the MEC service area can apply for up to $2,500 for classroom projects, technology, or academic clubs. Districts can receive up to $5,000 in total during the award cycle.
Applications are due Oct. 13. A volunteer group of MEC customers will review applications and award funding in January.
The Strengthening Schools Grant program is funded through MEC and its power supplier, Wolverine Power Cooperative.
