Nancy passed away suddenly and peacefully in the early morning of September 15, 2025. She was 89 years old and was still living actively and independently at her home on Grand Street in Adrian. She was born and lived her entire life in Adrian. Family was everything to her and she never failed to make that clear to anyone who would listen. She had three sons: Rick, Dale (recently deceased), and Brad who all graduated from Kalamazoo College, of which she was very proud. She had three daughters-in-law: Chantelle, Gayle, and Chan. She also had seven adoring grandchildren: Robinson, Kelsey, Ruby, McKenna, Aja, Maceo, and Ravell (with Robinson and Kelsey being recently married). Aside from her family, she loved and was loved by her community in Adrian. She touched many lives in a positive way, and she loved nothing more than helping people. She was especially fond of young people as evidenced by her time coaching high school volleyball at Adrian High, coaching softball at Siena Heights, and officiating both sports well into her later years. It seemed like she knew everyone in Adrian as it was impossible to go anywhere with her and not run into multiple people that knew her and wanted to say hello. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. Lastly, her love for her family and friends was very nearly matched by her love for animals. She would have preferred that, in lieu of flowers for her memorial, donations be made in her name to the local animal shelter. Her memorial service will be at Wagley Funeral Home at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with visitation starting at 5 p.m.
