RAISIN TWP — On Sunday morning, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on Occidental Highway near Ridgemont Drive in Raisin Township.
Deputies say a gold 2008 Mercury was going south when it left the road just past Gady Road and hit a tree.
The driver, an 81-year-old woman from Tecumseh, was taken to Hickman Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies report she was wearing her seatbelt, and speed does not appear to be a factor.
The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team is reviewing the crash.
The Raisin Township Police Department and Fire Department also helped at the scene.
