ADRIAN — Siena Heights University has appointed a new president.

The Board of Trustees and the Adrian Dominican Sisters have appointed Dr. Cheri Betz as the school’s 12th president.

Dr. Betz has worked at Siena for more than 20 years. She has served as vice president of enrollment, dean of the online learning program, and, most recently, as executive vice president. She also teaches leadership classes at correctional facilities in Jackson.

Betz says she is committed to guiding Siena Heights through its final year with respect for students, staff, and alumni.

She takes over from Dr. Douglas Palmer, who served as president until now.

Dr. Betz holds degrees from both Siena Heights University and Olivet Nazarene University. She is also active in her local church and serves on community boards.
