Margaret Madeline Neuman, age 94, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Promedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.
Margaret was born on May 13, 1931, in Mt. Clemens, MI, the only daughter of Remi and Stephania (Verbrugghe) DeNudt. Margaret moved with her parents and four brothers to Blissfield when she was 4 yrs old and graduated from Blissfield High School with the Class of 1949. After graduation, Margaret worked at Stoner’s Dime Store and Gamble Hardware in Blissfield for a few years.
On February 28, 1953, Margaret was united in marriage to George Junior Neuman. She embraced being a homemaker and mother to two lively sons. Margaret and George were blessed with 47 years together before his death on May 26, 2000.
Margaret was a long-time member of Palmyra Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds tending to her irises or doing yardwork. Margaret showed her craftiness in a variety of ways and was talented at knitting and crocheting. She had many friendships through her involvement with the Blissfield Senior Center and volunteered with Meals on Wheels
She will be missed by her sons, Dennis and Steven (Dawn) Neuman; grandchildren, Cory Neuman, Colleen (Ian) Reed and Kelly Jo (Nick) Hallett; great-grandchildren, Kyle Neuman, Ralph Reed, Henry Reed, Hailey Hallett, Brayden Hallett and Daxtyn Hallet; sisters-in-law, Linda (Jeff) Ehlert and Lila Neuman; along with many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, George; and brothers, Marsil, Fermin, William and Maurice DeNudt.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield, with Rev. Douglas Holmes officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmyra Fire Department or to the Blissfield Senior Center Meals on Wheels.
