ADRIAN — Lenawee County leaders are moving forward with the 2026 budget.
County Administrator Kim Murphy says the county is on schedule with its budget work, but lawmakers in Lansing have not agreed on a state budget. That could force a shutdown by September 30.

The 2026 budget totals $43.1 million and includes funding for county services, technology upgrades, and a new judicial building division.
Murphy said Lenawee is in a good financial position, but will keep watching the state for next steps.
