FRENCHTOWN TWP. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fatal traffic crash in Frenchtown Township.
Deputies say it happened Sunday evening in the 3100 block of Fourth Street, west of Bronson Street. A pickup truck went off the road, hit several vehicles and posts, then struck a tree. The driver, a 75-year-old man from Monroe, was ejected and died at the scene.
The Frenchtown Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police, and Monroe Community Ambulance all responded.
The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division.
