ADRIAN — Dozens of county residents rallied outside the Old County Courthouse in Adrian on Sunday in support of Dakota Courington, the 15-year-old boy who was critically injured in a hit-and-run last year.
The “Justice for Dakota” rally was held just weeks after a suspect in the case, 39-year-old Felisha Madison, was arraigned on a felony charge, for which she could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
According to Dakota’s father, Jack, around forty to fifty people had stopped by the rally, with many holding signs in support of his recovery and calling for justice in his case.
Dakota’s mother, Carrie, says that while the courts handle the investigation, the family’s new focus is to bring Dakota into an accessible home.
The case is still ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, or any witnesses who have not yet made a statement to police, should contact Detective Sgt. Kevin Putnam at 517-264-4819.
