ADRIAN — Lenawee County officials will give the first look at the proposed 2026 budget next week.
The plan will be presented at the Personnel and Ways & Means Committee meeting and shared with the full Board of Commissioners.
This presentation is also the first chance for the public to review the budget. It outlines services, projects, and investments planned for the year ahead.
County Administrator Kim Murphy said the process has been difficult because the State of Michigan has not finalized its budget, creating uncertainty for local governments.
Even with the challenges, county leaders say the proposal was built conservatively, with a focus on managing taxpayer dollars responsibly and planning for the future.
The full proposed budget will be posted online after the meeting. Residents are encouraged to watch the livestream, view the document, and share feedback.
