ADRIAN — Lenawee County is almost finished paying off a major loan for its 800 megahertz radio system.

The loan was taken out 10 years ago to build towers and buy radios for emergency services. It was funded through the county’s 9-1-1 budget.

Officials said there are now only two payments left.

After the loan is fully paid, the county will still need to cover costs for service and maintenance. That plan is not finalized yet.
