Morenci Launches Master Plan Update with Community Survey

MORENCI — The City of Morenci is asking residents to help shape its updated Master Plan.

A Master Plan is a long-term guide for land use, housing, roads, and economic growth. Michigan law requires communities to review their plans every five years. Morenci’s current plan was adopted in 2016.

To support the update, the city received a $50,000 Housing Readiness Incentive Grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and hired Beckett and Raeder, Inc. to assist.

Residents can share their opinions through a community survey. The survey is online at surveymonkey.com/r/MorenciMasterPlan. Paper copies are also available at Morenci City Hall at 118 Orchard Street.

Responses will be accepted through November 1.
