LANSING — The Powerball jackpot is climbing close to one billion dollars.
Tonight’s drawing will be worth $950 million, with a cash option of more than $480 million.
Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli says the prize could change a Michigander’s life over Labor Day weekend. If someone wins here, it would be the biggest Powerball jackpot ever won in Michigan, and one of the top six in U.S. history.
Michigan Lottery players have already won more than $6 million during this jackpot run, including two prizes worth $1 million each. The last big Powerball win in Michigan was in January 2024, when a Mid-Michigan club won $842 million.
Tickets are $2 and can be bought at retailers across the state or online at MichiganLottery.com until 9:45 p.m. tonight. The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m.
