TECUMSEH — The northwest downtown parking lot in Tecumseh will close for repaving starting the week of September 2.
The lot sits behind Martin’s Home Center, Basil Boys, and City Diner. It was last resurfaced in 2002 and is now due for improvements.
The project is part of the city’s capital improvement plan. Work will include tearing out and grading from September 2 through 12, paving on September 15 and 16, and striping from September 17 through 19.
The lot is expected to reopen September 22. It will stay closed to all traffic during construction, except for deliveries and garbage pickup.
The Downtown Development Authority and city leaders said the upgrades will improve downtown parking for residents, visitors, and businesses.
