Denver Ray Smith, 68, of Sand Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2025, at Hospice of Lenawee, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Tecumseh, MI, on February 23rd, 1957, Denver was the son of Ray and Betty Smith. He attended Tecumseh High School and later earned his diploma from Sand Creek High School. A hardworking and dedicated man, Denver spent many years in the construction field and later served as a head maintenance man, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Denver was an avid outdoorsman. He found joy and peace in nature—whether it was hunting, fishing, trapping, fur trading, or working on his leather tooling projects. His love for the outdoors was more than a hobby; it was a way of life and a reflection of his independent spirit. Denver is survived by his wife, Faith Smith of Sand Creek, MI; his four children, Keith Morlock, Kelly Morlock, Jason Smith, and Becky Parker (Adam); his cherished grandchildren, Sienna Morlock, Kyleigh Morlock, Madison Morlock, and Alec Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Finleigh Eames. He also leaves behind four sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Betty Smith, and one sister, Katherine Smith. In accordance with Denver’s wishes, no memorial services will be held. Arrangements with Purse Funeral Home. www.PurseFuneralHome.com
