Valentine Mirelez Jr., age 76, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1948, in Blissfield, Michigan, to Valentine and Nellie (Rodriguez) Mirelez Sr.
Valentine served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1978. During his time stationed at Rhein-Mein Air Force Base, he was recruited by the Air Force baseball team—an honor that reflected both his athletic skill and enduring love for the game. Baseball remained a meaningful part of his life long after his military service.
On October 12, 2020, Valentine married Sandra Cuevas in Adrian, Michigan. Their marriage brought joy and companionship in his later years.
A dedicated member of Holy Family Parish St. Mary Campus in Adrian, Valentine found strength and connection through his faith. He also had a lifelong love of music and shared his talent by playing in many bands throughout the years. Music was his passion, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He especially cherished being part of the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
To cherish his memory, Valentine leaves his loving wife, Sandra; a son, Michael Mirelez; two daughters, Vanessa (Jerry) Macias and Christina (Bryant) Boertmann; three brothers, Rudy (Virginia) Mirelez, John (Gayleen) Mirelez, and Fidencio Mirelez; three sisters, Carmel (Jim) Mirelez Sanderson, Julia Mirelez Casarez, and Maria Mirelez; eight grandchildren: Nicolas Mirelez, Kayle Villalobos, Jerry Macias III, Edison Braun, Gino Villalobos, Karissa Lerma, Joselyn Lerma, and Valerie Boertmann; and four great grandchildren.
