LCMHA To Discuss Medicaid in Town Hall

lcmha-2

ADRIAN Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority will be hosting a Town Hall to discuss changes in Medicaid coverage for behavioral health services on Tuesday, September 16th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Align Center for Workforce Development.

The event will include presentations from Kathryn Szewczuk, the Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority’s Executive Director, and other leading figures in mental health across the state, as well as a panel Q&A session.

In addition to the Medicaid reduction passed through the recent One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the State of Michigan is proposing a change in who is responsible for managing these funds.

Behavioral health services are typically managed by local, public organizations, such as Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority, but there is interest at the state level in creating a bidding pool that could include large, private non-profit groups.

In a statement, Szewczuk said these changes, “could radically change behavioral health care in Lenawee County.”

This event is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Space is limited, so interested persons are encouraged to register online at LCMHA.org or by calling (517) 263-8905.
