Jessica Lynn Bailey, age 45, passed away at home with the love and support of her family on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Jessica was born on October 25, 1979, in Garden City, Michigan, the oldest daughter of Greg and Carol (Kiel) Bertolo. She lived in Savage, Minnesota before moving into her childhood home in Brooklyn, MI. She attended Onsted High School and graduated with the Class of 1998.
On June 14, 2002, Jessica married her sweetheart, Benjamin Bailey in Monroe, MI. During their 23 years together, they built a wonderful life and created many lasting memories. Some of her favorite memories were the family vacations they took up north, yearly visits to Cedar Point, and going to concerts with Ben and close family friend Lance Miller.
Jessica and Ben were blessed with three daughters. Jessica loved watching the girls participate in everything from sports to school plays. She loved Christmas and was always pushing to decorate before Thanksgiving. Jessica and the girls had a yearly Christmas cookie baking day that the girls loved because Jess always made it so magical. Jessica liked spending time outdoors working in her flower garden. She especially loved her flowers that attracted butterflies and hummingbirds. Jessica worked for the United States Postal Service with Onsted being her home office. She enjoyed seeing the people on her mail route and being able to bring a smile to her customers’ faces. She got in “trouble” more than once for spending too much time at a customer’s house. Jessica’s kindness and positivity were felt by everyone who crossed her path. Unfortunately, she had to leave the post office in 2017 due to an injury. After recovering from the injury, she started working at Maxitrol in Blissfield in 2023. At Maxitrol she was loved by just about everyone. She was somehow able to improve the morale of the factory. Mostly with her smile, kind nature, and silly jokes. She made sure that everyone’s birthday was remembered and celebrated. Too many times, she was up late making birthday signs for her coworkers. Jessica was truly a wonderful person who put everyone else’s needs before her own. She seemed to have a special ability to find whatever a person needed to smile.
In addition to her husband, Ben, she will be missed by their daughters, Nicole, Lillian and Ella; parents, Greg and Carol; sisters, Lauryn (Matt) Fazio and Katie (Ryan) Buchler; In-laws David and Lisa Bailey; Sister in-law Dani (Brad) Benschoter; wonderful nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Dash and Moose. She will also be missed by her best friend Jamie Samuels.
There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian; with time for sharing stories and memories beginning at 6 p.m. In keeping with Jessica’s wishes, the family requests that if you are attending the time of gathering or the sharing of memories, that you wear bright colors to help celebrate her life.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ben Bailey. Any contributions will be put towards helping the girls further their education.
