SPRINGFIELD TWP. — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a school bus crash that happened Thursday afternoon in Springfield Township.
Troopers say a Springfield Local Schools bus was stopped on Centennial Road around 2:40 p.m. when it was hit from behind by a pickup truck. The bus had its red lights on and stop arm out at the time.
Thirty-five students were on board. One student had a minor injury and was released to their parents at the scene.
The driver of the truck was cited for not keeping a safe distance and for not stopping for the bus.
The Highway Patrol reminds drivers that school is back in session and to use caution when approaching buses.
