Jenkins-Arno Pushes Bill to Stop Ticket Scams

ADRIAN — State Representative Nancy Jenkins-Arno is working on a new law to protect people from online ticket scams.

She says the bill comes after she tried to buy tickets for the Croswell Opera House but ended up on a third-party site. The tickets cost almost one hundred dollars each, came with hidden fees, and never arrived.

The plan would require online sellers to clearly state when they are not the official venue. It would also make them show all fees upfront.

Jenkins-Arno says the goal is to keep families from being tricked.

The proposal is similar to laws already in place in states like Colorado.
