ADRIAN — The Adrian District Library board gave several updates on building and technology projects.

Three vape sensors were added in the main restrooms in June. The library also had problems with the heating and cooling system after a June 25 power outage. Repairs are still being made. Ceiling fans were fixed and will now stay on year-round.

Painting is planned for several areas, including the meeting room, alcove, heritage room, stairwells, and the front vestibule. New computers were installed in June, and printing service has been restored. A new microphone for the sound system is waiting to be installed, and a refreshed library website went live July 9.

Board members also discussed adding sound panels to reduce noise between the youth and loft areas and considering replacing the former café with vending machines.

Finally, the board reviewed a new $30,000 proposal for preventive HVAC maintenance, which could replace current service contracts.
