
Michael Dean Morse of Jerome, Michigan, passed away August 7, 2025, at the Henry Ford Hospice Home of Jackson, only 17 days after his beloved wife, Cathryn (Cathi) Morse.
Mike was born in Adrian, Michigan to Clair A. Morse and Fern E. (McCarbery) Morse. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1969, ITT Technical School in Dayton in 1971, and attended Indiana Technical College in 1972.
Mike worked at Budd Wheel Co. in Clinton, Michigan, Industrial Mill Supply in Adrian, and Diversified Engineering in Jackson. Through the years Mike enjoyed water and snow skiing, photography, motorcycling, cottage time, gardening, and taking care of the critters around his home, including hummingbirds, birds, turkeys, deer, and he was a great cat dad. Mike was a friend to all he met.
In September 1988, Mike married Cathi and they enjoyed living in their country home and activities in their various Masonic Lodges and Order of Eastern Star Chapters. Mike was a lifelong member of Fairfield Lodge 125 F&AM, serving as Worshipful Master several times and as Lodge Secretary. Mike later became a dual member of Hamilton Lodge # 113, serving as their secretary. He also served on the Grand Lodge of Michigan’s Board of General Purposes for several Terms. Mike was a member of Fairfield Chapter #224 Order of Eastern Star in Michigan and a dual member of Fulton Chapter # 67 in Ohio. Mike served as First Vice President of Lenawee Monroe County Association and as Worth Patron many times. He enjoyed traveling with his Cathi to events all over Michigan and Ohio, serving wherever they could.
He is preceded in death by wife Cathryn (Keech) Morse, July 21,2025, his parents Clair A. and Fern E. Morse, his infant sister Jacklyn K, his grandparents Franklin D. and Anna (Knox) Morse, Charles C. and Wanda (Lemrick) McCarbery of Britton, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael is survived by sister Kathlene M. Morse of Toledo, best friend Gregory Wise and an extra sister, Joy Wonderly; along with sister-in-law, Cynthia Keech, brother-in-law, Steven Keech and several cousins.
A joint memorial service for Mike and his beloved Cathi will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Tecumseh Masonic Temple 700 Bishop Reed Dr. Tecumseh MI. The family will greet guests starting at 10:30 a.m. with the memorial starting at 11:30a.m. A light luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, your local Hospice, or consider planting a tree or plant for hummingbirds and bees.
