Larry E. Lawrence, age 79, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away August 16, 2025, under the care of Southern Care Hospice. He was born April 25, 1946, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Myron and Juanita (Baker) Lawrence. On January 19, 1974, he married Linda George in Adrian, Michigan. She survives.
Larry spent his youth and formative years, growing up in Inverness, Florida. In 1965, he joined the United States Navy. Larry was veteran of the Viet Nam War, stationed on USS INGRAHAM. After serving his country, he returned to Michigan, and began his working career with Ford Motor Company, Saline Plant, where he met wife Linda. Then after 40 years of faithful employment, retired from Ford Motor Company in 2007. Larry was a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Hillsdale, Michigan. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Larry was a fireams instructor, motorcycle safety instructor, and worked as an armed security guard for various companies.
In addition to his wife to his wife Linda, he is survived by his children, Nathan Lawrence, Trisha Lawrence, and Chris Lawrence; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Peyton, Miley, Anthony, Marissa, and Cadence; three sisters; and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved dog, “Odin” .
Funeral services will take place 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Pastor Everett Henes officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the the United States Navy and Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187 Funeral Honors teams. Following the service everyone is invited to stay the funeral home for a funeral dinner in honor of Larry.
Visitation and viewing will also take place Friday, August 29, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.
