LENAWEE CO. — Michigan farmers have a chance to serve on the United Soybean Board, which directs soybean checkoff dollars across the country.

Two of Michigan’s three national seats are up for reappointment this year.

The Michigan Soybean Committee says interested farmers should contact CEO Ben Steyer by phone or email no later than August 22nd.

The committee manages checkoff investments for more than 12,000 soybean farmers in the state. Those dollars fund research, farmer education, and new market development.

Applications will be reviewed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, with new appointments expected later this year.
