ADRIAN — The county parks commission has approved a trial plan for soccer at Bicentennial Park.
A local recreation group asked to use the park for practices twice a week and games on Saturdays. The group said it would bring nets, fix the goals, and paint the field. They also carry insurance that lists the county as covered.
The request also asked to keep the park open later into the fall. Staff agreed that could work, but warned the spring season cannot be extended because the field holds too much water.
Some concerns were raised about making sure the park stays open for other visitors.
The commission approved a one-year trial, with the plan to review how it works at the end of the season.
