Judith (Laux) Sayler, age 81, of Blissfield, MI, passed away peacefully in her home
surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born on April 18, 1944, to Cletus and Dorothy
(Gehring) Laux in Toledo, Ohio.
Judy grew up in Richfield Center, Ohio, graduating from Metamora High School in 1962. Judy
was a stay-at-home mom to her daughters, during that time she sold Avon and just retired from
doing so in July after 49 ½ years. When Judy’s daughters were old enough, she went to work at
McDonald’s, Garden State Tanning and eventually Meijer. Judy grew up with a love of roller
skating, spending a lot of her time at the Swanton Colosseum roller rink where she would meet
the love of her life, Mel. Together they passed down their love of skating to their daughters and
spent most of their weekends at the skating rink for years. Judy loved spending time with her
grandchildren and loved being a Nana. She could often be seen driving around her mobile
home park with her faithful companion, Daisy, on her golf cart. Judy also loved camping with
her family and friends. Judy had a love for life and an amazing gift for gab, she never met
anyone that she couldn’t or wouldn’t strike up a conversation with.
Left to cherish Judy’s memory are daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Blevins and Cynthia Fischer; five
grandchildren: Ashley Hart, Joshua Sayler, Collin (Kylee) Blevins, Christian Fischer, and Katie
Fischer; two great grandchildren: Julia Hart and A.J. Hart; brother, Steve (Molly) Laux; sister-in-
law’s, Bonnie Laux, Minetta Sayler, Evelyn Dibello and Marcia Fick; fur baby, Daisy and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was the love of her life and husband, Melvin. They would have
celebrated 59 years of marriage this year. She was also preceded in death by her parents;
brothers, Charlie and Tom Laux and sister-in-law, Colleen Wisner.
