Bob was born January 3, 1945, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Harold and Anna (Ernst) Tooman. On December 31, 1966, he married Patricia Ann Warner at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, MI and she survives. Bob and Pat spent 59 years together golfing, bowling, traveling, playing cards, and dancing, always devoted to each other.
Bob was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Reservist for 6 years. Every summer Bob and Pat spent as much time as possible on the golf course and enjoyed 40 years as members of Raisin Valley Golf Club. In retirement, Bob even taught himself how to play guitar and spent hours learning his favorite songs. While Bob loved to have fun and enjoy life, he also worked very hard to provide for his family. Above all he was proud of the fact that his three daughters are college graduates with advanced degrees.
