Village Laws Updated

law-update

BLISSFIELD — The Village of Blissfield has voted to remove two old ordinances from its books.

The first, Chapter 15, set the term of office for library officials. That is no longer needed because the Schultz-Holmes Library is now a district library, not run by the village.

The second, Chapter 81, dealt with unauthorized people on school property. That is already covered by state law, and the village does not own the school property.

Officials say the changes help keep local laws up to date and avoid confusion about who has enforcement authority.

Both repeals will take effect once they are published.
