ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office will launch a new automated jail inmate information system next week.

Starting Tuesday, August 12 at 10 a.m., the public can call the existing jail phone number — 517-265-4400 — to access the new service.

The automated system will provide details about individuals in custody, including charges, bond amounts, and upcoming court appearances. It will also offer general information about visitation, phone calls, inmate funds, attorney and clergy visits, and property procedures.

Sheriff’s officials say the change will make it easier for family and friends to get the information they need while allowing staff to focus more on managing the inmate population.

For emergencies requiring police or first responders, residents should continue to call 9-1-1.
