BLISSFIELD — Lenawee County will host a ribbon cutting later this month for a new fully accessible musical playground and StoryWalk at Gerber Hill Park in Blissfield.
The event is set for Monday, August 18, at 5 p.m., and marks the completion of a $75,000 project funded by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s MI Neighborhood 2.0 program.
The StoryWalk was developed with Lenawee Great Start, which received support from the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential.
The playground features outdoor instruments for all ages and abilities, while the StoryWalk displays an illustrated children’s book page by page along a walking path, paired with activity prompts.
County officials say the addition promotes inclusive recreation, early literacy, and community wellness. The park is located at 14360 Carroll Road in Blissfield.
