ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says this year’s county fair security efforts were a success.

At the August 7th Criminal Justice Committee meeting, Sheriff Troy Bevier said it was the first time the department took full responsibility for fair security beyond standard coverage. Deputies were stationed throughout the event and worked closely with fair organizers before and during the week.

Bevier said the office will meet with fair officials to debrief and discuss potential improvements for next year.

Commissioners praised the team’s visibility and positive engagement with fairgoers, saying their presence was felt across the grounds. Commissioner Krasny noted residents and staff alike appreciated how approachable the deputies were during the event.

The Sheriff also recognized the efforts of his team, who, in addition to managing fair duties, are close to being fully staffed in the jail and patrol divisions.
