ADRIAN — Lenawee County is moving forward with a series of infrastructure upgrades at the Health Department, thanks to federal funding from the CDC.

The Physical Resources Committee has approved four renovation projects totaling more than $420,000, all awarded to Krieghoff-Lenawee. The largest item, at $188,000, will restructure the Environmental Health lobby, adding two workstations, a storage room, and a closet.

Another $127,625 is allocated to replace flooring and repaint areas throughout the building that haven’t been updated in recent years.

Two clinic areas will also see improvements. Rooms 2317 and 2318 will be renovated to create an additional exam space, costing just over $59,000. And Rooms 2237 and 2338 will be restructured to improve functionality, at a cost of $45,632.

The projects are fully funded through the CDC’s Public Health Workforce and Infrastructure Grant, with no cost to local taxpayers.

Final approval now heads to the full Board of Commissioners.
