TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh Department of Public Works recently provided the Tecumseh City Council with updates on their now-completed bridge rehabilitation project.

DPW Superintendent Troy Rohrbach (ROAR-bahk) spoke to the Council at their regular meeting on Monday, presenting a slideshow with photos of progress on the North Evans Street and Russell Road.

Rohrbach noted that the bridges were in worse condition than expected, particularly the North Evans Street Bridge, which had a deteriorated joint among other structural issues.

The project, originally set at $1.48 million, came in $2,000 over budget.

Both bridges were closed for repairs in spring of this year, with the Russell Road bridge reopening on June 9th and the North Evans Street bridge reopening on July 24th.
