Lenawee Airport Explores Jet Hangar Lease

ADRIAN — Lenawee County Airport is in early discussions to house a large corporate jet that could bring in more than 50,000 gallons in annual fuel sales.

The aircraft is a Challenger 601, and while its owner is based out of state, the pilots live locally. Airport officials say the team is exploring a possible land lease or private construction of a new hangar to house the plane here in Adrian.

During this month’s Airport Commission meeting, members voiced full support for staff to explore the opportunity. A business plan is now in the works.

While still in the early stages, the project is being viewed as a potential win for the county, bringing added traffic, fuel sales, and long-term investment to the airport.
