JACKSON — Jackson College is inviting families to discover the wonder of meteors during a special event next week.

The Meteor Shower Hour will take place Wednesday, August 13 at 8 p.m. on the college’s Central Campus in James McDivitt Hall, Room 151.

Guests will learn what meteors are, where they come from, and how to view them safely. Astronomical Observatory Coordinator Travis Marlow will lead the session, which includes live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and, weather permitting, an outdoor stargazing opportunity at the observatory.

Attendance is free, but space is limited to 25 participants. Registration is requested in advance.

The event is part of the college’s broader effort to promote public engagement in space science. More information and a registration link can be found at jccmi.edu/astronomical-observatory.
