Nancy Ann Banfield, age 87, formerly of Blissfield, Michigan passed away early Thursday, July 31, 2025, at ProMedica Charles & Virginia Hickman Hospital.
Nancy was born at home on September 26, 1937, in Ottawa Lake, Michigan, the daughter of John and Adina (Smith) Becker. Nancy graduated in 1955 from Burnham High School in Sylvania, OH.
Nancy’s career was focused in the field of law where she worked as a legal secretary for the Baker and Durst Law Office, and later as a court recorder for Judge Kohn. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Riga. She was a talented quilter, wonderful cook, and avid reader her entire life.
She will be missed by her son, Fred (Linda) Hasbrouck; grandson, Brandon Hasbrouck; sister, Barbara Becker; sister-in-law, Carole Wiechmann and wonderful nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, James and Carol.
Following Nancy’s wishes cremation will take place with no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee.
